LexaLite Brand Material InformationACRYLIC-LG LexaLite uses Altuglas International (formerly called Arkema) Plexiglas® V(825)-UVA-5A, Lucite International Inc. Perspex® CP-75UVA, CYRO Acrylite® S-10-343, or Plaskolite Optix® CA-75UVA, for our lighting grade acrylic “Acrylic-LG”. These materials are chemically identified as PMMA resins and have excellent long-term resistance to yellowing. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 80° Celsius to achieve optimum life. PREMIUM ACRYLIC-LG LexaLite uses Altuglas International (formerly called Arkema) Plexiglas® V-825-HID, Lucite International Inc. Perspex® CP-75-HID, Plaskolite Optix® CA-75HID or CYRO Acrylite® S-10-453 for our premium lighting grade acrylic “Premium Acrylic-LG”. This material is PMMA with improved UV stabilizing additives. While Premium Acrylic may be utilized in some applications at a continuous operational temperature up to 90°C, LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 80° Celsius to achieve optimum life. ACRYLIC-LG, MOON GLOW The Moon Glow designation indicates a customized pigment has been added to the PMMA resin. The appearance of Moon Glow products will be slightly translucent. Using products with a Moon Glow pigment can help to minimize glare and produce a desirable cosmetic effect. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 80° Celsius to achieve optimum life. ACRYLIC-FG Fluorescent grade acrylics have a minimal UV stabilizing package, which is not appropriate for HID applications. Materials include Altuglas International (formerly called Arkema) Plexiglas® V-052, Lucite International Inc. Perspex® CP-82, CYRO Acrylite® H-15 and other approved equivalents. Please contact your Territory Manager for current material specifications on LexaLite's fluorescent grade acrylic “Acrylic-FG“. ACRYLIC-FB LexaLite uses a lighting grade acrylic blended with CYRO Bead Dispersion material for our fluorescent bead acrylic “Acrylic-FB”. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 70°Celsius to achieve optimum life. ACRYLIC-AC This generic acrylic classification of "Acrylic–AC” indicates that a variety of acrylic materials may be used and no UL material recognition is available on this material. SUPERTUF-ST LexaLite uses Lucite International Inc. SuperTuf® ST50G8 for our impact resistant “Supertuf-ST” acrylic. Lucite International Inc. SuperTuf® ST50G8 is best suited to applications where both impact resistance and weatherability are important. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 80° Celsius to achieve optimum life. Lucite ST50G8 is an Underwriters Labs recognized plastic as reported in file E65769. ACRYLIC-INTERFACE 105 This uniquely foamed acrylic material provides diffuse reflection and an extreme white color. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 80° Celsius to achieve optimum life. Acrylic-Interface 105 is an Underwriters Labs recognized plastic as reported in file E226460. POLYCARBONATE-PC LexaLite uses Bayer lighting grade polycarbonates including Makrolon® LTG 3123, Makrolon® LTG 2623, or GE Lexan® grade 243 for our polycarbonate ”Polycarbonate-PC”. The key physical property of polycarbonate is resistance to impact. It is virtually unbreakable. LexaLite recommends a maximum operational temperature up to 90° Celsius to achieve optimum life. Polycarbonate should be used in areas where vandal resistance is a concern. The optical clarity of polycarbonate is degraded by ultraviolet radiation. UvaLex® coating and/or UV guarded lamps are recommended. LexaLite offers UvaLex®, our proprietary treatment, which retards discoloration of polycarbonate due to UV from sunlight or lamps. UvaLex treatment is recommended for any outdoor or HID lamp application with polycarbonate. In many cases UvaLex can triple the useful life of a polycarbonate part. |
